Maleknia was an inspiring and dedicated teacher of biochemistry who trained several generations of Iranian physicians.〔()〕 Maleknia's Text book of Medical Biochemistry has been the standard textbook for medical schools throughout the country. Professor Maleknia died on 15 June 2007 in Tehran.〔(Mani ''et al''.
